Remains dating back to Gallo-Roman times have been found in various parts of the village...

...attesting to Saturargues' antiquity. We also know that the Via Domitia passed to the south of the territory of today's commune.

A large area of garrigue and woodland allows you to stroll along well-maintained paths up to the highest points (65 m), offering beautiful views of the Pic Saint-Loup and the Cévennes. A short stroll takes you to the Roque de Saint-Sériès, overlooking the Vidourle river.
