Vérargues/ Entre vignes

The village seems to have been founded in the Middle Ages, possibly in connection with the establishment of the Hospitaliers de Saint-Christol.

Vérargues is at the heart of Muscat de Lunel production. This naturally sweet wine is produced in the sandstone hillsides of Lunel, Lunel-Viel, Vérargues and Saturargues. The Vignerons du Muscat de Lunel cooperative has been based here since 1957. It groups together some 80 winegrowers for a production of 15,000 hectolitres, 60% of which is A.O.P. Muscat de Lunel.
