Jean-Baptiste Hugo, visual artist, art consultant and educator, grew up in the rich literary and artistic environment
and artistic environment of the family home in Lunel, imbued with a sensibility and creativity
passed down through five generations. In his exhibition "Photographies", he presents three themes.

I - HAUTEVILLE HOUSE
The Hauteville House series is a selection of images representing the house
of his great-great-grandfather, Victor Hugo, in Guernsey, Channel Islands.

II - NATURES VIVES
Natures Vives are a celebration of the abundance and bounty of Mother Earth?s produce.
If the message of the still lifes painted by the Dutch masters of the 17th century was to remind
the impermanence of life and to encourage them to return to less materialistic values,

III - THE LOTUS - NO MUD, NO LOTUS
The lotus flower emerging from mud and silt is a powerful symbol associated with spiritual awakening in Eastern cultures
the black, putrid mud is the fertile gangue from which the seed will germinate and break through to the light
and emerge into the light to become a flower of the utmost purity.

Opening on Thursday 2nd from 6pm.
