For the fourth year running, LineUP continues its collaboration with the town and urban area of Lunel, focusing on urban cultures and street art. The three previous exhibitions at the Espace Louis Feuillade gave the general public the opportunity to discover artists with varied backgrounds and universes: Julien Barriol and Nasty?s work with letters and characters, Ador and Mara?s caustic look at the world around them through their character-signatures, and Clara Langelez?s abstract and sensitive universe.
This year, the invitation is extended to an internationally renowned artist, who will be celebrating his 40th anniversary with a retrospective exhibition: Mambo (Flavien Demarigny). From graffiti in the 80s, to the creation of a refined character with few strokes, to the repetition of a gesture and a form? these are 40 years of research, reflection and works that Mambo would like us to see or revisit.
The idea here is to take the public on a journey through the different artistic periods that have punctuated his career. A kind of temporal roadtrip that will take us back to the source of it all - graffiti - and embark us on the story of his life as an artist.
