25 Oct
Country

Explore the village of Saussines as you've never seen it before with a guided tour led by the village winemaker, focusing on the history of local viticulture. The tour ends with a presentation of the Marco Paulo estate in the family cellar, with wine tasting.

Built on the site of a former priory, the village of Saussines boasts a series of winegrower?s houses representative of the agrarian history of the Vidourle region, the oldest dating from the 18th century, with their exterior staircases and ground-floor cellars.
At the eastern end of the village, a remarkable group of winegrowers? residences, with their vast portals, private cellars and "bourgeois" houses, bear witness to the prosperity of the late 19th century.
The church of Saint-Etienne, a fine example of the Second Romanesque period, boasts an austerely beautiful and monumental west facade. It is one of the best preserved in the region.
