For this event aimed at young audiences and families, the lunelloise association L?Art de Thalie has invited the Compagnie Théâtre du Kronope to present "Roméo et Juliette? ou presque", a show freely inspired by William Shakespeare?s famous work, at the Espace Georges Brassens.
Romeo and Juliet? Everyone knows the story of this mythical theatrical couple created by the great English playwright. Two lovers. Two rival families. One impossible love. When your life and your feelings are governed by an ancestral quarrel, how can you love yourself? How do you live out your judged love?
While Shakespeare?s story is very much present in the show, the Kronope paints this ode to love in a new form of street theater, with the company?s trademark color and cheekiness. A hybrid show originally created for the street, "Romeo and Juliet? or almost" has now been adapted for the stage. On stage, the two artists take Romeo and Juliet and deliver an offbeat, condensed rereading, in which the great tragedy intersects with the little failures of a couple, on stage as in life.
It's burlesque, acrobatic and extremely funny. The show exudes a gentle madness and a desire to share, making it a little gem to be seen and experienced!
The story Caught up in their own history and personal feelings, two characters with a touch of madness take to the stage to present an offbeat, condensed version of William Shakespeare?s famous play, in which comedy and tragedy are skilfully blended. But the professionalism of these two artists is soon put to the test?
Come and meet Romeo and Juliet? or almost!
