This exhibition is an invitation to travel through centuries and imaginary worlds, with stories and precious works from the Médard collection and exceptional works from the collections of the libraries of Nîmes, Montpellier and Toulouse.

The books are arranged around the painting Le Radeau de la Méduse by Géricault, painted by Henri Regnault in 1865 (@Musée d'Hyères).

Stéphanie Ledoux, artist-traveler, casts her contemporary eye over these stories, maps and engravings. Here and there in the showcases, she will distill her portraits from the ends of the earth, her treasure boxes and her travel notebooks, for an open dialogue with the written heritage.

The final part of the exhibition takes us on a journey through imaginary underground worlds: from Nicolas Klimius to Tolkien, from Dante to Jules Verne and contemporary stories. The exhibition concludes with an original immersion thanks to 2042 editions and author Matthias Picard...
